If you need to contact the Year 5 team
We here to help and are 'all ears' if you need us. Either catch us before school or after school on the Upper Junior Playground, send a note in with your child or you can contact the school office either by popping in, calling or emailing (office@mudefordjs.co.uk) who will pass on any messages to the relevant teacher.
LogIns!
All children will be re-issued with personal logins in Year 5 and a reminder of instructions on how to use each website for the following:
- TT Rockstars (a great site for times tables - individual, 1:1 and group games)
- Planpanion (useful for Maths and English skills, will sometimes support homework)
Logins will be added to the Reading Journals/homework books. Please check with your child that they can access each of these websites and that their logins work. Any issues, please let the class teacher know.
Teachers will be able to monitor children's answers and responses on these sites when learning is set and give feedback in school allowing for minimal paper usage.
What Else?
We have included some links to other websites that you may find interesting and helpful. Please note that although we try our best to maintain the website to a high standard; Mudeford Junior School is not responsible for any of the external links to websites, nor is it responsible for any of the information which might appear in them.

KEY INSTANT RECALL FACTS (KIRFs)
KEY INSTANT RECALL FACTS
KIRFs are the 'Key Instant Recall Facts' that children need to secure during their primary years. They include facts such as number bonds and times tables. They are particularly useful when calculating, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing but also underpin many other areas of mathematics.
The secret to success is practising little and often. Can you practise these KIRFs while walking to school or during a car journey? You don’t need to practise them all at once: perhaps you could have a fact of the day. If you would like more ideas, please speak to your child’s teacher. REMEMBER TO USE TIMESTABLES ROCKSTARS TO BUILD UP YOUR AUTOMATICITY.
