School Council

At Mudeford Junior School, we have a strong pupil voice which is represented by our elected school councillors.

We are proud to be a Level 2 gold 'Rights Respecting School' which promotes the rights of every Child. Article 12 states, 'children have the right give their opinion and for adults to listen and take it seriously.' The School Council gives all the children at Mudeford Junior School a voice.

Every year two councillors are elected by their peers to represent their class. They wear their badges with pride and stand out as role models in the school.

Raising Money For Charity

Every year in the summer term, the School Council help to organise a 'Fun Day' where children take part in various, fun activities to raise money for the sponsorship of Agness at the Tongabezi Trust School in Zambia. We also donate to another charity, chosen by the children through class council.

The children put forward a charity they would like to fund and the councillors vote. Over the years, we have funded many charities including:

* Save The Children

* Great Ormand Street Children's Hospital

* Help For Heroes

* The Isabel Baker Foundation

* Surfers Against Sewage
