Accident and Illness Procedure

The school keeps a record of all accidents and there is a list of qualified first aiders in the Medical Room. If the accident is serious parents will be contacted. If we are unable to contact parents and action is required the child will be taken for medical treatment and the parents will be contacted as soon as possible.

Children who have minor accidents will be dealt with by a first aider.

Children who have bumps on the head will be given a pink head injury slip to take home.

In the case of serious injury the school is required to fill in the LA accident form. 

If a child is unwell during school time they will be sent to the medical room. Parents will be contacted if they cannot continue at school. Children awaiting collection will stay in the medical room until they are met by an authorised adult. Children leaving school, for any reason, will be signed out.
