Whole school Newsletter January 2024

Dear Parent / Carer                                                                                                                                          4 January 2024

Happy New Year and best wishes for 2024!   The Christmas festivities already seem a long time ago. I was extremely proud of the quality of the Christmas performances which were of such a high standard.  It was lovely to see so many parents attend the performances and the Christmas Fair, and celebrate this special time.

New Year Pantomime

M&M Productions will be finishing off this first week back (Friday 5 January) by performing Cinderella to all of the children. This is a traditional pantomime with songs, laughter and audience participation!

Opportunities for parents

First Aid

The children in Year 4 and Year 6 have recently had First Aid Training with Kavita Butler from Mini First Aid. The children learnt so much and the session provided them with invaluable lifesaving skills.

We are keen to equip as many people as possible with these skills and therefore have decided to offer a First Aid session for parents, which will be FREE and available on a first come first served basis. The session will take place on First Aid session for parents – Friday 9th February 2024. More information will be sent nearer the time

Friday Morning Cardio Tennis, Health and Wellbeing Session for Parents will continue for the throughout the spring term 8:50am-10:00am. All Parents of Mudeford Junior School children are welcome. Ally and Adam will be offering a fun session of cardio tennis, fitness and fun for parents. Enjoy a morning of great activities in a fun, friendly environment, all abilities welcome for an inclusive session. These sessions will be FREE of charge – just turn up on the day if you want to participate.

After School Teacher led Clubs

Please note that bookings can be made on the day required.

Free School Meals

Parents who receive Income Support or Income Based Job Seekers Allowance or Child Tax Credit AND NOT Working Tax Credit AND an assessed annual income not exceeding £16190 are entitled to free school meals and clothing grant. Further details are available from the school, by telephoning the Free School Meals team on 01202 123222 or by searching on line BCP Free School Meals.

Parking

If you bring or collect your child by car, please only park on the school side of Mudeford Lane and never stop on the raised area opposite the gate to allow children crossing the road to have a clear view either way.  Neighbours have also requested that driveways and garages are not blocked when collecting your child.  If you are collecting from the Nelson Drive gate, please be considerate when parking and do not obstruct this pedestrian gate. Dropping off or parking on zig-zag lines also places our children at risk.

All dates for the term can be found on the school website in the school calendar section
